What Happened?

Shares of video sharing platform RUM Group (NASDAQGM:RUM) jumped 6% in the morning session after the company announced a roughly $13.7 billion contract with an unnamed U.S.-based cloud customer to supply AI chips and GPU services. According to Reuters, the six-year agreement gives the customer access to GPUs and related infrastructure from Rumble’s facility in Maysville, Georgia, structured in three purchase installments, with the final phase contingent on customer-approved delivery dates.

A TipRanks company-announcement summary of the filing notes that RUM also granted the customer warrants to buy up to about 50.8 million Class A shares at $0.01 per share, vesting in tranches as service purchases are fulfilled. RUM also said it plans to pursue debt or equity financing to fund the capital needed to build out and fulfill the contract.

What Is The Market Telling Us

RUM Group’s shares are extremely volatile and have had 60 moves greater than 5% over the last year. In that context, today’s move indicates the market considers this news meaningful but not something that would fundamentally change its perception of the business.

The previous big move we wrote about was 13 days ago when the stock gained 8.4% on the news that the company reported second-quarter revenue that significantly surpassed Wall Street's expectations. The company announced sales of $40.37 million, a 60.9% increase year-over-year and a 31.7% beat against analyst estimates. However, the quarter was not without its challenges.

Rumble's GAAP loss per share of $0.28 was significantly wider than the expected loss of $0.10. Additionally, the company's cash burn increased substantially, with free cash flow at negative $91.62 million for the quarter, compared to negative $16.11 million in the same period last year. Despite the mixed results, investors appeared to focus on the strong top-line growth.

RUM Group is up 52% since the beginning of the year, and at $9.68 per share, it is trading close to its 52-week high of $9.75 from May 2026. Despite the year-to-date gain, investors who bought $1,000 worth of RUM Group’s shares 5 years ago would now be looking at only $996.91.
