The offering will be available to academic institutions and biopharma across Spain and the European Union.

Over the course of his career, Craig has played a leadership role in more than 30 major drug approvals by national regulatory agencies (including the U.S. Food and Drug Administration) and 13 FDA Breakthrough Therapy designations, helping accelerate the development of investigational medicines for serious oncology conditions.

Predicta Biosciences, a precision oncology company developing novel diagnostic and therapeutic products, today announced the availability of its first Laboratory Developed Test (LDT): GenoPredicta for bone marrow or blood. The test measures a spectrum of genomic alterations and can be used by ordering physicians to molecularly diagnose individuals who have or are at risk for multiple myeloma and inform therapeutic management. The test is conducted in a CLIA-approved laboratory.

Predicta Biosciences, a precision oncology company developing novel diagnostic and therapeutic discovery solutions, today announced it has raised an oversubscribed $23.4 million Series A led by Engine Ventures. Additional participating investors include Illumina Ventures, Lightchain Capital, Mass General Brigham Ventures, ACS BrightEdge, Binney Street Capital of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Myeloma Solutions Fund. The capital will be used to expand Predicta’s team and CLIA-approved lab infrastructure, and advance commercialization of the company’s first test, GenoPredicta and further development of other non-invasive diagnostic solutions for blood cancers and autoimmune diseases. In addition to the successful raise, Predicta also announced the appointment of Brian McKernan as CEO.

Additional participating investors include Illumina Ventures, Time Boost Capital, the American Cancer Society Bright Edge and the Oetgen family. Jay Wohlgemuth, former CMO of Quest Diagnostics, Mara Aspinall, former CEO of Roche Tissue Diagnostics and Partner at Illumina VC, and Ann DeWitt, General Partner at The Engine Ventures, will join the company’s Board. Predicta will use the seed funding to expand its team, and build a CLIA lab and workflow for sequencing and bioinformatics.
