Phillips Academy Trustees Elect New Head of School
The Phillips Academy Board of Trustees announced today that James F. Ventre ’79 will become the 17th head of school. Ventre, a native of Methuen, Mass., is currently assistant head of school for admission and financial aid and is one of the longest-serving senior leaders at the Academy. His tenure begins one year from now, July 1, 2027.

Phillips Academy’s Knowledge & Goodness Campaign has surpassed its $400 million goal, securing a place among the most ambitious and comprehensive campaigns in independent school history. The final total of $408.9 million will have immediate and lasting effects, particularly for students, who will benefit from over $100 million in additional financial aid endowment and more than $120 million in new and renovated academic, student wellness, and athletic facilities.
$25M Tang gift to strengthen need-blind admission and fund other priorities at Phillips Academy, Andover
A $25 million gift to Phillips Academy from Trustee Emeritus Oscar Tang of New York City will expand financial aid for students and strengthen Andover’s signature need-blind admission program. Tang’s generous support of the Knowledge & Goodness Campaign will also fund other key priorities, including academic innovation, bringing his lifetime giving to the school to an unprecedented $66 million.
Phillips Academy Andover Announces Monumental Campaign Gift
Phillips Academy, Andover, announced a milestone gift increase, making Amy Falls ’82, P’19, ’21 the most prominent female donor in the school's fundraising history. President of the Phillips Academy Board of Trustees and its campaign co-chair, Falls and her husband, Hartley Rogers, have donated more than $20 million to the Knowledge & Goodness fundraising campaign.
