MSP Recovery Law Firm Files National Class Action on Behalf of Auto Dealers and Consumers Against CDK Global Over Data Breaches at More Than 15,000 Auto Dealerships
MSP Recovery Law Firm filed a complaint in Federal Court in the Southern District of Florida against CDK Global Inc. on behalf of several Plaintiff Classes representing current and former automobile dealerships, automobile sales representatives, service department employees, and auto purchasers, after an immense data breach that leaked customer names, employee names, Social Security numbers, personal financial data, emails and mailing addresses, phone numbers, personal identification numbers (PINs), and dates of birth, among other sensitive personally identifiable information (PII).
Class Certification Granted in Lawsuit Against Automobile Insurer USAA for Failing to Coordinate Benefits
On May 28, 2024, following a multi-day evidentiary hearing, Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court of Florida granted class certification in a significant lawsuit against USAA Casualty Insurance Company and USAA General Indemnity Company (collectively “USAA”). The case, brought by MSP Recovery Claims, Series LLC and MSPA Claims 1, LLC, centers on allegations that USAA’s actions, or lack thereof, contravene both state and federal laws, resulting in health payors shouldering the financial burden for accident-related medical expenses that USAA was primarily obligated to cover.
