Joybound People & Pets, a leading Bay Area non-profit dedicated to strengthening the human-animal bond, has announced the appointment of three new members to its Board of Directors: Carrie Barlow, Bill Carey and David Moore. Each brings critical expertise in community engagement, finance, and strategic growth. These appointments come at a pivotal moment as Joybound prepares to expand access to pet care, pet family support, and crisis services. These appointments reflect the organization’s continued commitment to leading innovation in the animal wellbeing sector while expanding access to critical services that support both people and pets in the community.

When disaster strikes, animals rely on trained professionals who are ready to respond with skill, coordination, and compassion. This June, Joybound People & Pets, in partnership with Animal Search and Rescue (ASAR), convened more than 80 animal emergency response professionals for a two-day Animal Disaster Preparedness Workshop focused on strengthening readiness, collaboration, and life-saving field response.

Joybound People & Pets will host its annual signature fundraising gala, Unleash Happiness, on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 5:30 to 10:00 PM on its Walnut Creek campus. This year’s disco theme encourages guests to embrace their groovy glam and enter a dazzling evening where sequins, celebration and compassion shine, all in support of transforming the lives of pets and the people who love them.
