More than 1,400 homes and businesses in Lexington and Aiken Counties have gained access to Comporium's fiber-based multi-Gigabit internet service. Over the past few months Comporium placed nearly 156 miles of fiber-optic network to reach rural addresses near Swansea, Pelion and Thor in Lexington County and Perry in Aiken County. These projects, requiring almost $7.3 million of investment to extend the company’s fiber-optic network, provide customers with access to internet speeds of up to 5 Gigabits per second (Gbps) and will improve the quality of life significantly in rural areas.

Comporium has extended its network to serve 174 addresses along the northern side of the Ridge Spring community with fiber-based Gigabit services. The company announced a similar expansion last month and has spent the past few weeks further extending its fiber optic network into Ridge Spring. This project provides customers the ability to access internet speeds of up to one Gigabit per second.

Forty-Four addresses in two rural areas of York County have gained access to Comporium's fiber-based multi-Gigabit internet service. Over the past few months Comporium placed two miles of fiber-optic network to reach addresses off Hands Mill Highway and Kingsburry Road. This project, extending the company’s fiber-optic network, provides customers the ability to access internet speeds of up to five Gigabits per second.

Fifty-eight addresses along the southern side of the Ridge Spring community now have access to Comporium's fiber-based Gigabit services. The company has spent the past few weeks extending its fiber optic network into the community in Saluda County. Comporium constructed more than three miles of fiber optic network to serve these addresses. This project provides customers the ability to access internet speeds of up to one Gigabit per second.

186 homes and businesses in two rural areas of western York County are gaining access to Comporium's fiber-based multi-Gigabit services. The company has spent the past few months extending its fiber optic network into the Timbers neighborhood of York and to addresses around Bate Harvey Rd. in Clover. Comporium constructed more than 8 miles of fiber optic network to serve these addresses. This project provides customers the ability to access internet speeds of up to five Gigabits per second.

Dozens of residents in two very rural parts of Lancaster County recently gained access to Comporium's fiber-based services. As the company continued its upgrades to its network in rural areas of the county it brought these addresses online during the final weeks of 2023. These most recent improvements gave customers along the state line access to internet speeds up to one gigabit per second. It also included a small pocket of addresses further west along Riverside Rd.

Hundreds of residents in northeastern Lancaster County can now take advantage of Comporium's fiber-based services. During 2023, the company continued its work to upgrade its network in rural areas of the county. These most recent upgrades give customers in the area north of Buford access to internet speeds up to one gigabit per second.

Comporium continues its commitment to bring faster broadband speeds to Transylvania County. The company is in the final stages of offering up to 1Gbps broadband speeds to nearly 800 addresses across the area. In addition to improving its network in downtown Brevard, Comporium has begun migrating customers in the Balsam Grove, Cedar Mountain, and Lake Toxaway communities to recently upgraded facilities.

Comporium has announced that David Barnes has been promoted to Vice President of Production Resources, Innovation and Technical Training effective December 12, 2022. In this role, Barnes will coordinate the deployment and training of new technologies and services that make it possible for Comporium to deliver first-to-market opportunities and superior customer service. He will also audit cross-functional and complex processes with the intent of increasing the company’s efficiency and standardization.

Most residents in Fort Lawn, SC can now take advantage of Comporium's fiber-based services. Recently the company completed upgrades to its network in the community. Customers on Comporium’s network now have access to internet speeds up to 1 gigabit per second. Comporium also set up free public wi-fi access at the Fort Lawn Community Center as an additional service to the community.

Comporium is pleased to announce that Andrea Cooper has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Human Resources. Cooper reports directly to Bryant Barnes, President and CEO. She is responsible for planning and overseeing all aspects of Human Resources management functions. She serves as a strategic ally to Comporium’s leadership team, managers, and employees in providing advice, organizational development, business growth, policies and procedures, and other HR matters.
