Four Taiwanese Performing Arts Groups to Be Featured at Edinburgh Festival Fringe
As one of the world’s largest performing arts events, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe will take place in August in the U.K. Four Taiwanese performing arts groups—Lu Production, Mailantia Dance Company, Seed Dance Company, and Lei Dance Theater—will be featured in the Taiwan Season program at the festival.
Four Taiwanese Performing Groups Shine at France’s Festival Off Avignon
Entering its 60th year, the Festival Off Avignon took place from July 4 to 25, featuring 1,780 performances across more than 140 venues throughout the city. Marking its 20th year of participation in this renowned international arts festival, Taiwan showcased four outstanding performing arts companies: Chun Dance, Kuo-Shin Chuang Pangcah Dance Theatre, Dashing Theater, and Seed Dance Company. They presented their acclaimed productions—“Trace of Belief,” “∞ ‒ Infinity Loop,” “The Rite of Spring,” and “Lost Connection”—to audiences in France.
Taiwanese Puppetry Culture Month Launched at Waseda University Tsubouchi Memorial Theater Museum
The Taiwan Cultural Center in Tokyo, in collaboration with Waseda University and its Tsubouchi Memorial Theater Museum, is hosting Taiwanese Puppetry Culture Month from July 3 to Aug. 2. The program features “Le Hua Yuan Colorful Pavilion,” a puppetry stage donated by a Taiwanese alumnus in 1934, which returns to public view for the first time since a 1996 exhibition.

‘Taiwan Travelogue’ to Be Featured at Brooklyn Book Festival

With geopolitical changes and the growing demand for AI and semiconductors, international attention on Taiwan has significantly increased in recent years, leading to greater acceptance of Taiwanese literature and publications. The Ministry of Culture has long supported the translation and promotion of Taiwanese works, while the National Museum of Taiwan Literature has been actively translating and publishing local works to share Taiwanese cultural content and values worldwide. To date, Taiwanese literary works have been translated into eight languages and have entered the markets of the United States, Japan, Germany, France, and the Czech Republic, among others.
