Webster Financial Corporation (NYSE: WBS) today announced that its principal bank subsidiary Webster Bank, N.A. ("Webster") has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Ametros Financial Corp (“Ametros”), a custodian and administrator of medical funds from insurance claim settlements, from funds managed by Long Ridge Equity Partners (“Long Ridge”).

Ametros, which helps people manage their medical funds following workers’ compensation or liability settlements, has expanded its C-Suite with the promotions of two accomplished executives. As of September 1, Andrea Mills, formerly Executive Vice President of Sales, was promoted to Chief Client Officer and Gal Zhovnirovsky, formerly Executive Vice President of Operations and Engineering, became Ametros’ Chief Operating Officer.

The National Medicare Secondary Payer Network has elected John P. Kane, AIC, CMSP-F & MSCC as its president. The non-profit association focuses on MSP compliance and Medicare Set-Asides and their impact on workers’ compensation and liability settlements.

Ametros, which helps people manage their medical funds following insurance settlements, has promoted Jayson Gallant to Vice President of Strategic Partnerships. Gallant joined the company over six years ago and most recently held the position of Senior Strategic Account Executive.

In a first-of-its kind study, Ametros found that over 34,000 claims per year were denied to Medicare beneficiaries’ post-settlement because Workers’ Compensation Medicare Set Aside (WCMSA) funds were responsible for the payments.
