(Rocky) is thrilled to announce the receipt of a C$20.8 million grant through the Alberta Petrochemicals Incentive Program (APIP). This milestone funding underscores the province of Alberta’s commitment to fostering innovation in the petrochemical sector and positions RMCFI as a leader in clean, locally produced synthetic liquid fuel technology.
Rocky’s cutting-edge facility in Carseland, Alberta, represents Canada’s first commercial-scale Gas-To-Liquids (GTL) synthetic fuels facility, harnessing the power of the patented Enhanced GTL® (EGTL™) technology. The technology offers small scale solutions for converting clean burning natural gas and natural gas liquids into premium zero sulfur, high cetane synthetic diesel (SynDiesel), synthetic jet fuel (SynJet), synthetic naphtha, premium synthetic Fischer Tropsch waxes, and hydrogen capable of meeting industrial and fuel cell grade requirements. Rocky’s EGTL™ technology is ideally suited to meet global demands for practical energy solutions while enabling the transition to cleaner, more sustainable fuels, including the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and enhanced energy security, providing sustainable fuel alternatives for industries ranging from transportation to aviation.

Revolutionizing the Energy Landscape
The Carseland facility leverages Rocky’s EGTL™ technology, which can produce up to 25 million liters of synthetic diesel annually. This fuel, derived from natural gas, is a cleaner-burning, high cetane, biodegradable alternative to traditional petroleum diesel, featuring zero sulfur and significantly reduced emissions of particulates, and NOx. The process is ideally positioned for the application of advanced carbon capture and utilization capabilities, further reducing the plant’s environmental footprint.
