Colorado Vision Quest For Men: Small Group Experience June Bookings Announced

via Press Release Distribution Service

Rites of Passage announces a wilderness quest for men, a nine-day program scheduled for June 20-28, 2026, near Salida, Colorado. Participants spend time preparing as a group before heading out alone into the wilderness, then return to share and reflect on the experience together.

-- Rites of Passage has opened registration for the upcoming men’s wilderness quest in Colorado that will be taking place this June. Created as a guided rite of passage for men, the quest is intentionally limited to 10 participants so the experience can remain personal, focused, and closely supported from beginning to end.

More information about the men’s wilderness quest can be found at https://wildernessquest.org/schedule/mens-wilderness-quest-26/

The announcement comes at a time when interest in nature-based experiences continues to grow. According to the Outdoor Industry Association, outdoor recreation participation in the United States reached a record 168 million people in recent years, showing that more people are actively seeking time in nature and opportunities to step away from daily routines.

The men’s vision quest follows a clear sequence rather than a casual retreat format. Participants begin by preparing together as a group before moving into an extended solo period outdoors. During that threshold phase, each man spends three days alone in the wilderness without food and without four-walled shelter. The experience then closes with a guided return that includes reflection, discussion, and time to make sense of what emerged during the solo phase.

Rites of Passage brings more than 40 years of experience guiding wilderness-based programs, including more than 30 years leading men’s quests. The organization’s work centers on carefully held outdoor rites of passage that combine preparation, solitude, and group process in a remote setting. By limiting participation to 10 men, the program creates room for close guidance while also allowing trust and shared understanding to develop within the group.

Instead of being about comfort or recreation, the program is really about stepping away from everyday life, preparing together, and working in a small group so men can get clearer on what they’re dealing with and what comes next.

The work doesn’t end when the program is over, Rites of Passage notes. The idea is to come back to everyday life with a better sense of how men want to show up—at home, at work, and in their community—and to actually follow through on that. It’s less about the time away and more about what they do with it once they’re back, the team explains.
