SoulChill Donates $200,000 to UNHCR and Launches Ramadan Charity Campaign to Support Families in Need

In March 2025, SoulChill, the leading voice-based social platform in the Middle East, donated $200,000 to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to support vulnerable families during Ramadan. Rooted in love and empathy, the SoulChill community embodies compassion—a value mirrored in this donation, which transforms collective kindness into tangible impact.

In addition, SoulChill carried out local charity initiatives in Cairo during Ramadan, distributing 2,941 free Iftar meals and 506 care packages through its in-app Ramadan campaign. These packages were donated in the names of the platform’s Top 10 Arabic-region Charity Ambassadors, representing user participation and underscoring SoulChill’s commitment to bridging digital engagement with real-world support.

“Our mission is to create a space that’s both globally connected and locally meaningful,” said Sic Zhang, SoulChill’s Chief Operating Officer. She emphasized, “Our approach to Ramadan comes from a belief in mutual care—kindness goes both ways. We stand together with our users, giving back collectively to the communities that shape who we are. As one user shared, ‘SoulChill made me feel connected and capable of helping others, even from home.’”

The decision to launch this Ramadan charity initiative was inspired by user feedback. Within days of its launch, hundreds of messages poured in—some expressing gratitude, others inquiring how to contribute during the holy month. This enthusiasm made one thing clear—users wanted to contribute, and SoulChill had a duty to help them do so.

At the heart of SoulChill's ethos lies a deep commitment to cultural relevance and localization, creating a platform where every user feels valued and understood. Reflecting traditions like gathering for Iftar or sharing acts of charity during Ramadan, it’s a safe and welcoming space where everyone’s voice matters and where users feel empowered to extend kindness beyond the screen into their neighborhoods and communities.

This campaign is just the latest example of SoulChill’s ongoing commitment to charity. In 2024, the community provided 200 Ramadan supply boxes in Egypt, and in 2023, hosted a warm Iftar dinner for nearly 200 people.
