Mary Nelson, Founder of the Mary Nelson Youth Center, was recently selected as Top Youth Advocate of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP) for her outstanding leadership, dedication, and commitment to the industry.

These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, longevity in the field, other affiliations, and contributions to their communities. All Honorees are invited to attend the IAOTP annual award gala during the year for a night to honor their achievements.
With more than two decades of exceptional experience in the industry, Ms. Nelson has certainly proven herself an seasoned and trusted expert in the industry. She opened her establishment in 2000, the Mary Nelson Youth Center, and it has been instrumental in positively impacting the lives of children and families. The youth center is situated in the convergence of community and life, resulting from Mary Nelson's transformative personal experience. This experience was shaped by the enduring and influential values that were instilled in her by her parents.
The establishment of the Mary Nelson Youth Center took place in response to the tragic death of her nephew, Darryl Patterson, as a result of gun violence. Mary was very motivated to establish a platform aimed at equipping young people with the essential principles and abilities required to emerge as outstanding leaders within their communities. She was aware of the deficiency of resources and opportunities for youngsters inside her neighborhood. The individuals need assistance, motivation, and dedication in order to achieve their goals. Education served as the first measure and viable alternative to resorting to acts of violence. Mary saw that a significant number of youngsters lacked access to fundamental educational resources. Nelson's predicament led to the establishment of the Mary Nelson Youth Day BBQ, which later evolved into the Mary Nelson Youth Foundation, in order to address the aforementioned gap.
Before embarking on her professional career path, she earned her degree in business administration from Bryant and Stratton College.
Throughout her illustrious career, Ms. Nelson has received many awards and accolades and has been recognized worldwide for her accomplishments. To name a few, she was awarded the Wisdom Keepers Award Issued by FOCUS Oct 2023 and the 2023 Global Change Maker issued by Passion Vista Magazine. This year, she will be considered for the Empowered Woman Award and will be featured in TIP (Top Industry Professionals) Magazine. She will be honored at IAOTP's annual awards gala at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville for her selection as Top CEO of the Year in Knowledge Preservation.

It serves as a catalyst for empowering young people to accept their authentic selves and unlock their inherent capabilities.
