Legislators from Virginia, Ohio, and Massachusetts will discuss the political and fiscal stakes of regulated online gaming ahead of their states' upcoming legislative sessions
As more states weigh whether to legalize online casino gaming, iDEA Growth will convene legislators from three states actively considering iGaming expansion for its sixth annual Power Lunch Summit, a virtual conversation on the policy and political dynamics shaping the iGaming debate.
During the session, "State Lawmakers on the Front Lines of the iGaming Debate," panelists will share firsthand perspectives on the factors driving iGaming legislation in their states, including tax revenue potential, protecting consumers, competitive pressure from neighboring states, and concerns around fiscal impact and responsible gaming. The webinar will take place on Friday, September 18, 2026, from Noon to 1:00 p.m. ET.
The panel will be moderated by Jeff Ifrah, Co-Founder and General Counsel of iDEA, and the panelists include:
- Senator Jeremy S. McPike, Virginia State Senate
- Representative David K. Muradian, Jr., Massachusetts House of Representatives
- Representative Brian Stewart, Ohio House of Representatives
"There's no substitute for hearing directly from the legislators that are in the statehouse and writing these bills," said Jeff Ifrah. "When states get iGaming right, they protect consumers, fund and commit to responsible gaming programs, and bring in tax revenue that's currently going straight to illegal, unregulated operators that have no accountability. New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Michigan show what’s possible when states strike that balance."
"That's what the Power Lunch Summit is about — giving our members and the broader community direct access to the people and expertise shaping the industry in the U.S. I hope you'll join us."
The session is designed for anyone tracking the direction of state iGaming policy, including reporters and editors covering gaming and state politics, state legislators and staff evaluating iGaming legislation, state regulators and enforcement officials, industry leaders and government relations professionals, lobbyists, and attorneys advising clients in the space. Legislators and regulators in states earlier in the legalization conversation may also find the discussion useful in understanding the challenges and opportunities other states have encountered.
Registration is free and open to the public.
