The report features case studies highlighting successes and lessons learned from renewable energy assets that have withstood severe weather and thermal events
kWh Analytics, a Beazley company, today announced the release of its 2026 Resilient Power Report, a collection of case studies highlighting the successes and lessons learned from renewable energy projects that have withstood severe weather and wildfire events.
Now in its second year, the Resilient Power Report showcases how intelligent engineering, proactive operations, and collaborative risk management across the value chain strengthen the resilience of renewable energy assets.
"Our industry has made great strides in understanding the risks facing renewable energy assets and the resilience measures needed to mitigate them. Technologies and protocols that weren't in place just a few years ago are now operational,” said Jason Kaminsky, CEO of kWh Analytics. “As renewables become the backbone of the grid, working together to scale those solutions will be key to building lasting, resilient infrastructure.”
This year’s Resilient Power Report features case studies from five industry contributors, each highlighting scalable resilience lessons learned from projects exposed to severe weather or wildfire conditions:
- kWh Analytics: 'Rising to the Challenge: Managing BESS Fire Risk'
- National Laboratory of the Rockies: 'Same Storm, Different Fates: Two Roofs on Guam Show that Simple Features Can Reduce Damage'
- Madison Energy Infrastructure: 'Winter Storm Fern: A Data-Driven Approach to Snow Response'
- Clearway and Nextpower: 'Tilt and Survive: How Auto-Stow Protected 1 Million Panels in West Texas'
- Deriva Energy: 'From Risk Assessment to Response: Operational Readiness During a Wildfire Event'
kWh Analytics has been a pioneer in encouraging industry collaboration to improve the resilience of renewable energy assets and reward projects that implement protective measures through its underwriting process. The Resilient Power Report is a companion piece to the company’s widely read annual Solar Risk Assessment, which details risks identified by industry experts to solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) assets. Taken together, these reports provide a comprehensive look at the risk landscape facing renewable energy assets and proven strategies for achieving resilience at scale.
kWh Analytics was recently acquired by Beazley, a leading specialty insurer dedicated to supporting the global energy transition. Together, the companies are committed to advancing resilience through data-driven industry collaboration.
