Ribbit leads round with participation from Stripe, Optum Ventures, and Terrain
CoPlane, the company building AI-native software to streamline the back office for the world’s essential enterprises, today announced its $14M seed round, led by Ribbit, with participation from Stripe, Optum Ventures, and Terrain.
ERP, or Enterprise Resource Planning, is the category of software most large companies use to manage finance, supply chain, and operations. The global ERP market is estimated at more than $80 billion, yet most systems in use today were designed decades ago. They are widely regarded as complex and costly to implement, often requiring significant consulting and manual processes to operate at scale.
CoPlane is reimagining enterprise software with an AI-native platform that collapses and replaces legacy ERP sprawl. The platform is designed for large enterprises that have long been constrained by rigid, costly back-office systems.
“Enterprise back offices haven’t meaningfully improved in decades. Across the S&P 500, G&A spend as a percentage of revenue hasn’t budged in decades—hovering at around 15%,” said Chris Sperandio, CoPlane co-founder and CEO. “We’re building CoPlane to change that and to give tech, supply chain, manufacturing, healthcare, and financial services enterprises the same kind of leverage that the best technology companies have long had with their own custom systems.”
Sperandio previously worked as Lead Product Architect at Segment and later leading product acceleration at Stripe. In those roles, he recognized first-hand the inefficiencies created by sprawling ERP systems. Together with co-founders Scott and Victor, the team spent its first months embedded with enterprise design partners, building hands-on solutions to harmonize data and replace manual processes. That work became the foundation for CoPlane.
“Back-office complexity is one of the biggest hidden taxes on large enterprises,” said Jordan Angelos, Partner at Ribbit. “CoPlane's AI engine transforms legacy ERP-adjacent workflows into agentic applications that scalably get work done. Surging demand from essential industries shows that they’re ready for a change."
Today, CoPlane is working with a growing set of design partners and customers across industrials, healthcare services, and late stage technology, including OI Infusion and Red Ventures. Early deployments have already automated high-friction processes like invoice exception handling and sales order entry, freeing up thousands of hours of manual work. Customers can deploy working systems in days, not years, and retain full control of their data in their own cloud environments.
“CoPlane has fundamentally elevated the way our organization operates,” said Joseph Brunink, CEO of OI Infusion Services. “In just a few months, their platform and team have multiplied the impact of our internal IT and operations groups — allowing us to scale our back-office infrastructure as efficiently as we scale our clinical footprint. Their hands-on enablement and problem-solving approach have delivered real, production-level solutions to complex workflows across finance, accounting, and procurement. The CoPlane team doesn’t just deploy software — they embed as partners who understand the operational realities of high-growth healthcare.”
