AHS Announces 2025 Scottsdale Headache Symposium® Featuring New Clinical Insights and Emerging Science in Headache Medicine

The American Headache Society® (AHS), a professional society of healthcare providers dedicated to the study and treatment of headache and face pain, will host the 2025 Scottsdale Headache Symposium December 4-7 in Scottsdale, Arizona. This year’s meeting brings together physicians, scientists, and advanced practitioners for an immersive educational experience designed to elevate clinical practice and enhance patient care across the spectrum of headache disorders. Register for the meeting here.

“Each year, this symposium provides an invaluable opportunity for clinicians to sharpen their diagnostic skills, gain confidence in treatment planning, and discover the latest research that can meaningfully impact patient outcomes,” said Carrie Dougherty, MD, FAHS, Deborah Friedman, MD, MPH, FAHS, and Scott Powers, PhD, FAHS, co-chairs of the 2025 Scottsdale Program Committee.

Highlights From the 2025 Agenda

The comprehensive program features a full slate of plenaries, interactive sessions, and targeted clinical updates. Two key sessions anchor this year’s meeting:

Obesity in Headache: This session brings fresh attention to the complex relationship between weight, metabolic factors, and headache disorders. The discussion explores new research insights, emerging treatment pathways, and practical strategies for improving outcomes in patients with comorbid obesity and migraine.

Intracranial Pressure Disorders: This clinical deep dive examines diagnostic challenges, evolving management approaches, and red-flag indicators clinicians need to recognize early.

These and other sessions—including practice management updates, advances in therapeutics, and hands-on learning opportunities—are designed to equip attendees with actionable knowledge that can be implemented immediately in clinical practice. The full program agenda is available online here.

AHS is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education (CME) for physicians. The 2025 Scottsdale Headache Symposium is accredited for up to 45.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ through live and recorded sessions.

Registered attendees will receive online access to recorded presentations following the live event. Media representatives may request press passes to attend and cover the meeting.
