A Private Network for Small Business America, the Actual Backbone of the Economy, Brings Family Business Stories to Documentary Television During the Largest Ownership Transition in U.S. History

CHICAGO, IL / ACCESS Newswire / June 3, 2026 / Hassan Martini, founder of Vinx Network LLC, today announced the development of "The Backbone," an eight-episode documentary series produced by Vinx Productions that profiles American family-owned businesses during what many economists and industry observers describe as the largest intergenerational transfer of privately held business ownership in United States history.

Over the coming decade, millions of American business owners are expected to retire, transition leadership or sell businesses they spent decades building. The resulting transfer of ownership is expected to involve trillions of dollars in enterprise value and impact communities across manufacturing, agriculture, transportation, hospitality, construction, healthcare, and skilled trades.

"The Backbone" is designed to document the people behind those businesses through a cinematic, character-driven format focused on legacy, succession, family, and the future of Small Businesses in America.

"These are the businesses that built this country," said Martini. "Many of their stories will never be told as ownership changes hands. The Backbone exists to document the people, families, and communities behind those businesses during a moment of historic transition."

Vinx Network has assembled a growing database of family-owned businesses representing a broad range of industries and geographic regions across the United States. Businesses featured in any future production will be announced following distribution agreements and participant approvals.

"For too long, the wrong people have been glorified and the wrong stories have been told on American television," Martini added. "The Backbone is built to change that. The family business owners who built this country with their own hands deserve credit where credit is due, and a national audience that finally sees them as the heroes they are."

"The Backbone" is currently in development through Vinx Productions, the media and production arm of Vinx Network LLC. The company also publishes The Vinx Brief, a newsletter focused on business ownership transition, entrepreneurship, and the future of American small business.
