Dual-axis clamping system aims to reduce drift and improve positional control in precision workshop applications

HONG KONG, HK / ACCESS Newswire / May 7, 2026 / VOGUELINK, a developer of precision workshop equipment, has introduced AxiGlide, a dual-axis bench vise designed to improve positional stability in fine-detail work by addressing limitations found in traditional bench vise and ball-joint clamping systems. The ball-joint vises allow wide articulation but need to lock repeatedly for angle adjustment, or introduce unintended movement during precision tasks; AxiGlide provides a more controlled alternative by separating rotation and tilt into two independent axes and providing damping support for each.

AxiGlide combines a 360° controlled top rotation with a 0-90° tilting base. The system allows users to adjust workpiece orientation across two independent planes while maintaining consistent positional stability during operation. This structured mechanical approach is designed to keep set angles stable during operation, ensuring that the position remains secure throughout the duration of the task.

"Our focus isn't just clamping the workpiece, but also flexible repositioning as well as stable support to eliminate interruptions in your workflow." says Luke Von, designer of AxiGlide. "By engineering a system where rotation and tilt operate independently, we are providing artisans with greater confidence in their workpiece positioning. AxiGlide is about creating a predictable, stable environment for high-precision craft."

The system is designed for applications where repeatable positioning and stability are required, including miniature painting, jewelry setting, model fabrication, and small-scale woodworking. By positioning the workpiece closer to the user's natural line of sight, AxiGlide reduces the need for frequent re-clamping, helps maintain consistent working posture during extended sessions and reduce physical fatigue.

AxiGlide integrates several key mechanical components intended to support controlled positioning:

  • 360° Controlled Rotation (Top Axis): Enables rotational adjustment with defined stopping behavior.

  • 0-90° Tilting Base: Provides angular positioning across a secondary axis.

  • Spring-Assisted Quick Lock Mechanism: Maintains fixed positioning during high-intensity operation.

  • Modular Jaw System: Supports parallel, fractal, and pin jaw configurations in different materials.

AxiGlide is now live on Kickstarter, where early supporters can access the first production batches and exclusive campaign pricing tiers. Additional technical details and campaign information are available on the project page HERE.
