About Gerdus "Gus" Byleveld

Mr. Byleveld has spent 25 years building his career in technology and business leadership. Since 2013, he has served as JourneyApps' chief revenue officer. In this role, he managed teams in sales, account management, and customer success and support. He has now launched his newest venture, The Wondering, helping founders and startups find their revenue magic.

One of the most critical moments in Mr. Byleveld's career came in 2016 when he helped move JourneyApps from South Africa to Colorado. He and several co-founders built the company's headquarters in Denver while he settled in Colorado Springs. He worked through the challenges of relocation and growing a business in a new country. His determination helped the company grow and succeed. In February 2025, he became a naturalized U.S. citizen.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Byleveld held several executive roles. He served as chairman of Infinity Rewards from 2010 to 2013 and as chief executive officer of Mytcg Technologies from 2010 to 2011. He also served as vice president of channel sales for Europe and Africa at FireID from 2009 to 2010, where he led indirect software sales and partnerships.

From 2006 to 2009, Mr. Byleveld worked as turnaround chief executive officer at Infinity Rewards. He helped the company stabilize and assisted employees in finding new roles as the business changed. Earlier in his career, he worked with Software Futures, Delos Technology and Dimension Data. At Software Futures, he was named Salesperson of the Year.

Mr. Byleveld holds a National Diploma in Architecture from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. He's pursuing a Master of Business Administration with a focus on artificial intelligence in business at the University of Cumbria. He also holds certifications in artificial intelligence, customer service management, prompt engineering and executive education from the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Colorado Boulder. He's most proud of helping his company move to the U.S. and build a strong team that found success in the new market.

Balancing a Career and Home Life

Away from work, Mr. Byleveld lives in Colorado and enjoys fine arts, opera, theater, and motorsports. He also supports local rugby and wrestling. He values time with family and finds balance through travel and outdoor activities.

Looking ahead, Mr. Byleveld plans to support his son through high school and college while continuing to help talented teams build meaningful technology solutions and companies. He hopes to work on projects that improve business results and everyday life while focusing on learning and long-term impact.
