UNIONDALE, NY / ACCESS Newswire / December 3, 2025 / Marquis Who's Who honors Brent Phillips for his innovation in hospitality. Mr. Phillips is the founder of Milk & Honey Ranch, an accommodation and event space where people can visit to unwind and relax.

A Life Humbled and Redirected
Milk & Honey Ranch, named after the biblical Promised Land, began as a lifestyle transformation rather than a business venture. It was meant to be a permanent home-a place where the Phillips family could embrace a life of self-sustainability, connect deeply with nature, and teach their children the value of producing rather than simply consuming.
"I wanted our family to experience another side of life that we knew nothing about, to grow as people as we worked to grow our food," Mr. Phillips explains.
After selling a previous business, the Phillips family had the means to build this new life. But during the Ukraine war, after converting their garage into a temporary space to house displaced families, an unexpected market crash created financial devastation. With few options left, Mr. Phillips listed the converted space on Airbnb, praying someone would book it. Someone did. Then another. And another.
What began as a lifeline became a calling. Guests connected with the ranch's authenticity, its hands-on experiences, and its spirit of hospitality. Milk & Honey Ranch grew organically from a family homestead into a thriving farm resort where visitors came to experience nature, community, and renewal.
By the end of 2023, the Phillips family had seven guest stays and a powerful vision, but the costs of operating a working farm were enormous. Confident that 2024 would be their breakout year, Mr. Phillips poured everything into expansion.
Then, on January 8th, 2024, everything changed.
Great Displays of Love
Mr. Phillips' wife was in a devastating car accident that left her fighting for her life. Growth plans halted overnight as Mr. Phillips turned all attention to her care, asking for prayers-and prayers came. Strangers rallied. Guests became family. Millions followed her story. The outpouring of support carried the family through their darkest hours.
"By God's grace, through doctors, prayers, and pure determination, my wife-who wasn't expected to survive-defied all odds. She not only survived; she thrived," Mr. Phillips said.
To cover the medical costs, Mr. Phillips raffled a McLaren gifted years earlier by his brother-a gesture that unexpectedly became a lifeline. Donations poured in as well, revealing a depth of love and support the family never anticipated.
After her rehabilitation, Mr. Phillips returned to the ranch with renewed resolve. He cashed in his 401(k), took on every job he could find, consulted as a CTO by day, and worked additional roles by night. Friends, staff, guests, and even strangers stood with the family, helping push the ranch forward when it mattered most.
Today, the ranch looks very different than it did in those painful early days. Milk & Honey Ranch now features an on-site café and spa, a conference and wedding venue, 35 accommodations, including a western town, and hundreds of beloved farm animals.
"We've created a space where people can come and unwind. They can connect with their loved ones. They can make memories and have so much fun while experiencing the beauty of nature that most people only ever see on a screen," Mr. Phillips says. "Each morning, as I walk to work, I take a deep breath and thank God for bringing beauty out of ashes."
