AUSTIN, TX / ACCESS Newswire / December 12, 2025 / Austin-based rock duo Black Pistol Fire will release their highly anticipated 7th full-length studio album "Flagrant Act of Bliss" on January 23, 2026. Written and co-produced by guitarist/vocalist Kevin McKeown and co-produced/mixed by Grammy Award-winning engineer Jacob Sciba, the record marks the most emotionally revealing and creatively expansive work of the band's career.
Recorded entirely in Austin, Texas at Arlyn Studios, 5th Street Studios, and McKeown's home studio, the album moves between explosive, high-voltage rock and intensely intimate moments. Three tracks - "High Horse," "Hearts Into Submission," and "Cry Like a Man" - were recorded at 5th Street Studios with producer/engineer Nick Joswick, a longtime collaborator of the band.
"This was a tough album to make," says McKeown. "I had to dig deeper than I ever have before. The lyrics on this record are more vulnerable and personal than anything I've written. There were moments that pushed me hard, but I've never been more proud of a body of work."

The album's theme became the creative anchor.
"At some point, I realized I needed to stop worrying about perception," McKeown explains. "I had to let go of the second-guessing and lean fully into joy, instinct, and honesty - to act in a Flagrant Act of Bliss. That idea unlocked the entire record."
Featuring standout tracks like "Low Twang," "Rock Bottom" (featuring Gary Clark Jr. on drums), and "High Horse," "Flagrant Act of Bliss" captures Black Pistol Fire at their most dynamic - raw, fearless, heartfelt, and fully in their element.
