Non-profit ensures no family goes hungry this holiday season
(PRUnderground) December 10th, 2024
Driving Successful Lives, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has gone above and beyond this Thanksgiving by donating 500 turkeys to families and organizations across Southeast Michigan. Their mission to combat hunger during the holiday season brought joy to countless individuals.
“We spread the love around for the holiday season,” said Mark Maupin, President of Driving Successful Lives. “Our goal is to make sure no one goes without a meal, especially during Thanksgiving.”
This year’s efforts directly benefited 100 families across three counties and supported community partners who serve on a larger scale. The Salvation Army received turkeys and fed over 3,000 people, while Welcome Baptist Church, Calvary Baptist Church, and St. Michael’s Church distributed turkeys to those in need within their congregations.
The non-profit credits its success to partnerships with local businesses. Special thanks go to the Meijer stores in Southfield and Sterling Heights for their pivotal role in lifting purchase limits on turkeys, which allowed Driving Successful Lives to meet the overwhelming demand.
“Thanksgiving is a time to be happy and have food,” Maupin added. “We strive to ensure no one feels forgotten and that everyone has something to be thankful for.”
Driving Successful Lives continues its legacy of service by bridging gaps in the community and spreading hope during the holidays. By offering a unique way to give back during the holidays, Driving Successful Lives is poised to make the season brighter for countless families. About Driving Successful Lives
Driving Successful Lives’ mission is to help raise funds and improve the lives of veterans, homeless families, children, those with addictions while helping donors generate a tax deduction, often with property or vehicles they might no longer want.
Every time a person gives to the charity of their choice it may also create a tax benefit for them. Car donations, real estate donations or money donated to non-profit institutions throughout the tax year may be tax deductible which means that they could make a positive difference for people while reducing the amount of income taxes they pay. Contributing to charities can be a very convenient way to reduce taxes and help others.
